Release notes

Every version of Tidy My Mac, newest first. The app checks for updates by itself and installs them when you agree; it needs macOS 26 Tahoe or later.

Version 1.6.2

· build 11

Changed

  • Subscribing now goes through Stripe's secure checkout, and your receipt comes from Stripe. Existing trials and promo codes work as before.

Version 1.6.1

· build 10

New

  • Redeem a promo code in Settings › Subscription.

Version 1.6.0

· build 9

New

  • Ransomware protection: decoy files and a watch for files being encrypted, and the app stops the process doing it. Off by default; turning it on explains what it needs before it asks for your password.
  • Shell Startup: shell startup files, cron jobs, PATH and code-loading variables on a page of their own, with an alert when one changes.
  • Reports: a weekly health report, and a daily report of apps and folders that grew past a limit. Each can be turned on or off, with its own notification.
  • Open at Login apps can be managed in the app, and Ask answers questions about startup items, login items and background services.
  • Junk Cleaner finds old screenshots and screen recordings, and the Dashboard offers them.
  • Security Settings lists sharing services and turns them off from the app.
  • Privacy Access removes permissions left by apps that are no longer installed.

Changed

  • Scans keep the Mac responsive.
  • Web Protection shows a notice when you allow or block a site, and marks the sites you have already allowed.

Fixed

  • Reading login items no longer asks for an administrator password.

Version 1.5.1

· build 8

Changed

  • When an update is ready, the menu bar app says so with a notification and an “Update to …” menu item.

Version 1.5.0

· build 7

New

  • A protection shield in the menu bar, with a switch for each protection.
  • A daily Smart Scan and a weekly virus scan, each with a summary.

Version 1.4.1

· build 6

Fixed

  • A crash in Web Protection.

Version 1.4.0

· build 5

Changed

  • Deep malware analysis sends whole files up to 500 MB, with each file's path on your Mac, and includes hidden folders.

Version 1.3.0

· build 4

Changed

  • Files sent for deep malware analysis carry a random ID for this installation, so the files from one Mac are kept together.

Version 1.2.0

· build 3

Changed

  • Deep malware analysis is on by default and no longer asks at first launch. Turn it off in Settings › Malware Analysis.

Version 1.1.0

· build 2

New

  • Deep malware analysis: after a Smart Scan, files from your home folder are sent to our servers for AI malware analysis, one at a time and paused on battery. Asked about at first launch, and can be turned off in Settings.

Changed

  • The license check sends your Mac's name, so your account page can tell your Macs apart.

Version 1.0.0

· build 1

New

  • The first release: cleanup, app updates and uninstalling, antivirus, firewall, Web Protection, and security and privacy checks, with a 7-day free trial.
